Last night’s snowfall will not go down in the history books, as most residents are waking up to see small amounts of snow accumulated overnight.
The morning commute should not be impacted due to road conditions, but it is important to exercise safe driving habits.
While Franklin and Ripley counties have no weather related accidents reported as of this morning, Decatur County have received a few slide-offs reported on S.R. 46 and 421 North.

Some of us may see snow for the first time this season late tonight and early Tuesday morning.
With a strong artic front moving quickly through the region, the precipitation may begin with isolated rain showers, than turning into snow overnight.
According to the National Weather Service, snow accumulations will generally be around an inch and are expected to primarily affect grassy surfaces. The combination of falling temperatures and wind gusts may result in reduced visibility and slick spots on untreated roads, bridges and overpasses.
Motorists should plan for winter driving conditions tonight and early Tuesday morning. It is important to monitor speed, increase the distance between you and the vehicle in front of you, and allow for extra time to reach your destination.
Decatur County residents may see flurries before midnight, while the strongest chance of snow accumulation for the area between midnight and 3 a.m. Overnight temperatures will drop into the mid 20’s.
Snow is possible before 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning with an afternoon high in the upper 30’s.
