(Batesville, IN) – No one was injured when a house caught fire on Six Pine Ranch Road in Batesville Sunday afternoon.
Batesville Fire and Rescue says crews were called at 1:46 p.m. to a report of a smoker/grill that caught fire under a covered porch in the back of the residence.
While in route to the scene, dispatchers told firefighters the homeowner called 9-1-1 again and said the fire was spreading to the house.
A motorist on I-74 also called dispatch to report a house on fire near the interstate.
Crews arrived within three minutes of the initial call to find flames coming from the back of the home.
The Oldenburg and Morris fire departments provided mutual aid, and the fire was brought under control a short time later.
