Several area departments battle barn fire

BATESVILLE, IN — Batesville Fire and Rescue battled a fully engulfed barn fire on the 27,000 block of Mid Road Saturday evening.

The fire quickly spread in the barn, and the contents were destroyed.

There were no cattle inside, but the owner was treated for a burn on his arm.

Batesville received assistance battling the blaze from the Morris, Oldenburg, Napoleon, and New Point volunteer fire departments.

There’s no word from investigators on what caused the fire.
