Southeastern, IN — Southeastern Indiana Recycling District (SEIRD) will host several Household Hazardous Waste spring collection dates over the next few weeks.
Saturday, April 3: Franklin County Recycle Center 8 am -10 am
Saturday, April 3: Batesville Area Recycle Center 11 am-1 pm
Saturday, April 10: Jennings County Recycle Center 8 am -10 am
Saturday, April 10: Scott County Recycle Center 11 am-1 pm
Saturday, April 17: Switzerland County Recycle Center 8 am -10 am
Saturday, April 17: Ohio County Recycle Center 11 am-1 pm
Here is a list of items that can be brought to SEIRD facilities on HHW days that would otherwise be difficult to deal with on your own:
• cleaning chemicals
• oil-based paints and stains
• pesticides and herbicides
• acids
• aerosols
• fluorescent tubes and bulbs
• flammables
• mercury
Make sure to keep all HHW in its original, labeled container. Unlabeled and mixed wastes cannot be accepted for safety reasons.
There are also a few difficult disposal items that cannot be accepted at this time:
• fuel tanks
• window or plate glass
• alkaline batteries
• latex paint
