SOUTHEASTERN IN — The Southeast Indiana Growth Alliance (SEI READI) has announced its plan with Thomas P. Miller & Associates (TPMA) to increase private sector engagement after the recently extended submission deadline of the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI). READI is a transformational statewide initiative dedicating $500 million in appropriations to promote economic development. Taking steps to support its regions, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation announced an additional 30 days for proposal submission.
The SEI READI initiative will now be accepting project and idea forms through Monday, August 30. The previously established deadline prior to the IEDC’s extension was August 10. Private employers, local governments, non-profits, and citizens are all welcome to take advantage of this additional time. In addition to the deadline extension, a fillable PDF of the project form has been added at www.southeastindiana.org/share-support-submit. This PDF allows for project contributors to prepare and save their submission offline prior to officially submitting using the online form found on the same webpage.
READI funding aims to advance talent attraction through strategic investment. Dearborn, Franklin, Ripley, Ohio, Switzerland, and Union counties are aligning on regional priorities through engagement with government staff and officials, nonprofits, state organizations, private businesses, and the public, including a concerted effort to involve youth in the discussion. The recent deadline extension provides an opportunity to consider additional regional project and idea submissions.
“Southeast Indiana is abundant with opportunity; the deadline extension will allow us to continue to refine the strategic plan while uncovering and incorporating regional priorities. Most importantly, we can better engage with private businesses and employers in the region to ensure the plan is well aligned with their strategic needs and vision for the future,” said Brett Wiler, Director of Economic Development & Community Resiliency at TPMA.
