Southeastern, IN — Back in November of 2020, Southeastern Indiana REMC and SEI Communications announced that the two cooperatives have entered into a Broadband Joint Venture Agreement to serve SEIREMC members with high-speed internet service. The REMC will build out the fiber network and SEI Communications will connect the service at the home or business. SEI FIBER is a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) product with speeds of a minimum of 100 Megabits per second (Mbps) up to 1 Gigabyte per second (Gbps).
Pricing will start for the minimum residential service at $64.95 plus applicable taxes. Routes are currently being developed and we plan to have the entire project completed within four years. Materials are starting to be delivered for the SEI FIBER project and construction of the fiber backbone will begin in April.
