Osgood, IN — Southeastern Indiana REMC and SEI Communications announced on Monday that the two cooperatives have entered into a Broadband Joint Venture Agreement to serve SEIREMC members with high-speed internet service. The next step is to complete the Engineering Design Plan, which will determine the buildout and timing of the project.
SEI Communications has a proven reliable fiber network currently in place and operates under the co-op business model to provide services in the same rural communities as the REMC. The joint venture leverages the experience and expertise of both organizations to build out a fiber network and provide the high-speed connection and quality customer service that our members want.
SEI FIBER, a division of Southeastern Indiana REMC, is expected to launch in 2021. The REMC will build out the fiber network and SEI Communications will connect the service at the home or business. Once the Engineering Design Plan is complete, the details of the program will be made available.
