SE Indiana Teen Making It Happen On Track

Kayla Roell

Our Rob Lafary reports in the Versailles Republican that Kayla Roell, a junior at Milan High School, became the first woman to win a sprint car race at Lawrenceburg Speedway, last weekend.

Kayla reportedly accelerated from her 7th-place start, quickly got to the front of the field, and didn’t give the lead up on that recently-reworked track.

Roell’s really blazing a trail, having won a Midget car race 3 years ago, and a sprint car series event last year.  Several months ago, you might remember we talked to Kayla about her success in high school wrestling, capturing 4th place in a weight division at the state meet.  Congrats again to that impressive young woman.

This photo is from Kayla’s own Facebook, but from back when she first got into racing, and succeeding at it, a few years back.
