(Southeastern IN) – This is the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
U.S. Army Col. Canfield “Buddy” Boone, Milan High School Class of 1966, was among those killed when a hijacked plane slammed into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
A memorial to Col. Boone is in Daren Baker Park in Milan (pictured).
The Sunman Rural Fire Department will honor the 343 firefighters who died in the 9/11 attacks tonight during the annual Walk to Remember starting at 6 p.m.
Firefighters will walk 3.43 miles in full turnout gear to honor the 343 firefighters who lost their lives at the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11, 2001.
The walk is open to the public.
