FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ind. — At Tuesday night’s, Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation Annual meeting, Louis Schwegman was re-elected to District Supervisor.
He was sworn in by Judge Clay Kellerman at the meeting.
Calvin Finch was awarded the Conservation Farmer of the Year award which was presented by Evan Divine.
Finch was awarded this honor for his use of:
- Cover Crops
- 100% No-till
- Grass buffer strips along stream to filter sediment and nutrients
- Rotational cattle grazing and fencing them out of streams
- Timber stand improvement and invasive species control on woodlands.
