(Milan, IN) – An investigation has been launched into alleged social media misconduct by a Milan Community Schools staff member.
School corporation official say that person was placed on administrative leave, and a full investigation was launched by the authorities.
School officials say they can’t provide more details on the matter due to the confidential nature of personnel matters, and to protect the integrity of the investigation.
In a statement, Milan Schools Superintendent Pat Murphy wrote, “We want to assure our community that we take all allegations of impropriety with the utmost concern.”
Murphy adds the safety and well-being of students is of the highest priority, and the school corporation is committed to providing a secure and respectful learning environment for everyone.
“We commend our students and parents for reporting this issue to our administration,” Murphy said. “Parents are encouraged to remind their children to report to a trusted adult situations that make them uncomfortable. Please contact the school office if you have further concerns.”
