Decatur County, IN — Saturday marks the three-year anniversary of Donna Mitchell’s disappearance.
She was last seen on February 11, 2020, around 7:30 pm, at the Brown Bottle liquor store in the Bartholomew County town of Hartsville.
When Mitchell went missing, she was believed to be in extreme danger and in need of medical assistance. Mitchell was heavily dependent on her medication and when she left her residence in Hope, she did not take her medication with her.
Mitchell’s destination was in the area of County Road 60 SW and County Road 600 South in Decatur County.
She was driving a maroon 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer with Indiana license plate 902QAK.
The vehicle has also not been seen since.
At the time of her disappearance, a Silver Alert was issued, but due to a lack of information, the alert was eventually canceled.
In the past two-and-a-half years, on-foot, aerial, and sonar searches of property, ponds, and lakes in the area Mitchell was believed to have been traveling were conducted without success.
Mitchell was born on January 2, 1963. She is a white female, 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighs 115 pounds, has brown hair, and brown eyes and she was last seen wearing glasses, a tan Carhartt jacket, and blue jeans with a flower decal on the pant leg.
In an effort to bring this case to a conclusion, an additional set of investigators has been assigned and is actively pursuing old and new leads.
Anyone who has information that they have not yet provided to investigators, including information on ponds, lakes, or filled-in ponds or lakes that have not been searched, is encouraged to contact the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office at (812) 663-8125.
