Sandra Lynn Privett passed away peacefully on the morning of February 1, 2021 at the age of 74. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to and preceded in death by John Henry and Anna Elizabeth (nee Hamm) Schneider. Sandy graduated from Mt. Healthy High School in 1965 and married JC Privett Jr. on December 23, 1972.
Sandy was a fiery soul with a variety of passions. An avid cook, she celebrated both her German heritage and hometown pride through food. She loved anything that included cooked cabbage, sardines, and Skyline Chili. If you were invited into her home for a visit, her first question to you was usually “What can I get you to eat?” and you could certainly count on leaving with a full stomach. Sandy was always happiest hosting family gatherings around a celebratory meal and a card game.
Sandy was also a lover of words and music. She played both the piano and guitar proficiently; even teaching her grandchildren their first keys and strums. Sandy sometimes attempted to sing but, with a wide smile, would quickly beg her daughter to take over the vocals. Even she would admit that her voice was always better heard through her writing which includes several poems, short stories, and travel reviews. Books filled her home and she never hesitated to recommend a new favorite – probably from the fantasy genre.
She adored her animals and epitomized the term ‘Dog Mom’ before it was popular. She had an assortment of pets over the years including cats, dogs, birds, and horses. Sandy especially loved her Jack Russell Terrier ‘Annie’ and was known to take the “little white dog” everywhere she went. Sandy was also extremely proud of the work she did to train her black pony ‘Banner’ and her smile was often its brightest out in the barn taking care of her “hobbit horse”.
Her memory will continue to be cherished in life by her Husband and knight in shining armor: JC ‘Pete’ Privett Jr.; Daughters: Elizabeth (Sy) Bryant, Kay (George) Stauber, Mona Privett; Grandchildren: Ashleigh, McKenzie, Luke, Alex, Wanda, Buffy; Great Grandchildren: Maegan, Jimmy, Emily, Buffy, Henry, Brianna; Great Grandchildren: Oliver Noah; Siblings: Johnny (Annita) Schneider, Francie (Ron) Bien, Pete (Chris) Schneider, Jim Schneider, and Phoebe (Rick) Petticrew. Sandy is also remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial services will be held on Feb. 13th, 2021 @ 1:30pm; address: 8220 Busse Dr, Aurora, IN 47001.
