Ruth E. Hamilton, 94, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at the Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg. She was born May 27, 1928, in Decatur County, Indiana, the daughter of Harry J. and Mary (Hessler) Dwenger.
Ruth worked for many years at Minears clothing store. She was a 50 plus year member of the St. John Ladies Auxiliary #202 and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen. Ruth loved to bake and sew, but her passion was family and God.
She was married to Charles H. Hamilton on June 3, 1947 and he preceded her in death on August 3, 1999.
She is survived by twelve children, Marilyn (John) Peetz, Ann (Marvin) Stier, Chuck (Dianna) Hamilton, James (Susan) Hamilton, Linda (Gary) Ortman, Barb (Gregg) Mattox, Helen (Dan) Schutte, Philip Hamilton, Carol (Todd) Reed, Joyce (Bob) Ricke, Dale (Susan) Hamilton, Joseph (Jessie) Hamilton; one brother, Edward (Brenda) Dwenger; 48 grandchildren and 67 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brothers, Dick Dwenger and Leonard Dwenger; sisters, Kathleen Scheidler, Esther Martin, Rose Powers, Anna McCullough, Betty Harris, Mary Ellen Veerkamp.
Family and friends will gather at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022, at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg to pray the rosary. Visitation will follow until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 10 to 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen followed by the funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
