(Indianapolis, IN) – The Indianapolis International Airport says they want to make more than 50,000 wrestling fans feel welcome when they arrive this week for the WWE Royal Rumble.
That event is set to begin at 6 p.m. February 1 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Megan Carrico, senior director of public affairs for the Indianapolis Airport Authority, says there’s plenty of photos you can see of some of the biggest stars in wrestling.
“The Indianapolis International Airport in partnership with Indiana Sports Corps and a local WWE host committee are excited to have a local artist provide a Royal Rumble piece in the terminal. Make sure you take a picture once you come through security,” said Carrico.
Carrico says they’ll have a couple of tricks up their sleeves as well.
The Indy airport will feature WWE Royal Rumble backdrops throughout the terminal.
The Royal Rumble is the first of several major WWE events heading to Indianapolis as part of an agreement with Indiana Sports Corp. In future years, WWE fans will be able to see WrestleMania and Summerslam in Indianapolis.
