Roy Edward Witte, 90, of Aurora, IN, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024.
He was born June 1, 1934, in Aurora, IN, son of the late Oscar Witte and Opal (Kinnett) Witte.
Roy was a loner. He loved being a farmer. He farmed the family farm that his grandfather started. His dad was born and died in the upstairs bedroom, then Roy continued to farm it until March of 2024. Roy graduated from Aurora High School in 1953. He then attended (OMI) Ohio Mechanics Institute in 1954, and graduated with an Associates Degree. OMI was merged with UC and renamed College of Applied Science in 1969. After graduation, Roy went into training at U.S. Drillhead and worked there until his retirement. Roy used to go to Cincinnati every Saturday night to play poker with his co workers. He loved getting together with family, but farming was his life.
Roy is survived by his loving sister, Eleanor N. Higham of Aurora, IN; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Opal Witte; siblings, Clem Witte Ruth Jackson.
Friends will be received Friday, July 19, 2024, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home.
Services will be held at the funeral home, Friday July 19, 2024 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Ryan Goode officiating.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, IN.
