Rosemarie R. Hausman

Rosemarie R. Hausman, age 92, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at St. Andrews in Batesville. Born in Batesville, Indiana on February 16, 1932, she lived a life full of love, faith, and family. She was married to James Hausman on June 9, 1956, in a beautiful ceremony at St. Louis Catholic Church. James preceded her in death on July 23, 1974. She was also preceded in death by her loving parents, Leo and Caroline Walke, sister; Mary Vogelsang, and brother; Cliff Walke. Rosemarie worked at Hillenbrand Industries as an executive assistant, as an administrative assistant with her husband Jim in their family-owned insurance company and retired as a bookkeeper at Dunlap Supply in 1998 to spend more time with family and friends. She was a dedicated member of St. Louis Catholic Church and volunteered countless hours of her time to the Church. Rosemarie’s favorite volunteer event was the annual St. Louis Fall Festival.

Rosemarie is survived by her daughter Diana Storms (Shawwn), son Greg Hausman (Nancy), granddaughters; Caroline, Allison, and Evelyn (Storms) and Nicolette (Hausman) and a grandson JJ Hausman; brother Eugene Walke. Rosemarie was a beautiful woman who paid great attention to detail in everything she did. She took great pride in maintaining her home and always making sure her outfits matched from head to toe. She exuded elegance and class in her thoughts, words, and actions. She was an incredibly kind, loving woman who was famous amongst her grandchildren for hosting the best Christmas Eve celebrations which always included her signature lasagna and homemade Chex-mix. There was nothing more important to her than the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Rosemarie was an amazing grandmother, always keeping detailed accounts of each of her grandchildren’s activities and accomplishments. She especially enjoyed tracking the Herald Tribune’s accounts of both athletic and academic accomplishments, playing cards with friends and family, and being sent pictures of what the grandchildren were up to on her iPad. Rosemarie will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who truly embraced all life had to give, regardless of the challenges endured.
