Rose memorabilia stolen, recovered during signing event

Forest Park, Oh. — Police in Forest Park, Ohio thwarted an attempt by two juveniles to steal a bat from baseball hit king Pete Rose during an autograph session Monday afternoon.

Rose was signing autographs at the Sports Gallery when a group of juveniles entered the store. Two of them grabbed the signed collectible and rushed toward the door.

A Forest Park police officer on a targeted patrol noticed the activity and began to investigate. When the office closed in the suspects dropped the bat and attempted to flee.

The suspects were caught but the store owner declined to press charges. The store owner has a history of following and highlighting the achievements of “Charlie Hustle” over the years.
