Nothing delighted her more than having family together and spending time with them. Family get togethers at the farm were always fun. She and Gene traveled over the years and a family trip to Myrtle Beach more recently was enjoyed by all. She also canned the excess summer vegetables each year and included (or coerced) family members to help when she could. Rosalyn had many hobbies. She was an avid reader and especially liked mysteries and westerns in addition to sewing and quilting. Her quilts have won blue ribbons and for years she would donate one to the St. Louis Church festival to be raffled off. The kids teased that in recent years she began watching The Game Show Network and listening to Swap Shop on the radio. They also indicated mom was an excellent cook and could make something out of nothing and make it taste delicious. Her strawberry rhubarb custard pie will certainly be missed.
Rosalyn is survived by her husband Gene; daughter Denean (Ron) Williams of Batesville; sons Doug Walke of New Point, Steve and Chris (Donna) Walke, both of Indianapolis; sister Elaine Cornett of Columbus, Indiana; brothers Arthur Bischoff of Columbus, Ohio, Gene Bischoff of Marion, Indiana, Irv Bischoff of Cedar Grove, Indiana, Dan Bischoff of Milan, Indiana, Victor Bischoff of Aurora; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brother Arnold Bischoff and great grandson Lawrence Wessel.
Visitation is Wednesday, December 29th from 4 – 7 p.m. at the We!gel Funeral Home. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 30th at St. Louis Church with Rev. Stan Pondo officiating and burial in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to the St. Anthony’s Haiti Mission Fund or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
