Born on November 17, 1939, cherished son of Herbert Michael Fister and Angela Naegele (nee Oblinger). Ron proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He married Margaret Pauley on February 5, 1966, at Little Flower Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, and together they raised four wonderful children. A hardworking and entrepreneurial man, Ron built a long and successful career with Xerox Corporation before founding his own company, Pauley Business Products, where he continued his partnership with Xerox products. Later in life, he broadened his professional pursuits into real estate, owning and managing multi-unit rental properties. His strong work ethic and determination were evident in everything he pursued. Ron was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. In his spare time, he could often be found tinkering and working on his vehicles or on his lawnmower, keeping his property in tip-top shape. Ron never met a stranger and was quick to make new friends. Whether taking gas to someone stranded on the side of the road or lending a helping hand to anyone in need, he was truly a people person with a generous heart. Most of all, Ron loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His warmth, kindness, and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Those surviving who will carry Ron’s legacy on include his children, Deborah Lakin, Barbara Dillon, Stephen Fister, and Kathleen (Scott) Harper, all of Brookville; ten grandchildren, Heather Holland, David Lakin Jr., Joshua Lewis, Justin Lewis, Christian Lewis, Mariah Lewis, Tyler Fister, Tessa Harper, Landon Harper, and Audrey Harper; eight great-grandchildren; three siblings, Mary Ann Shiplett, Dennis (Jane) Fister, and Nancy (Robert) Biggs. Ron was preceded in death by both of his parents, as well as his loving wife of 53 years, Margaret Fister.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Holy Guardian Angels Oratory, 405 US-52, Cedar Grove, IN 47016, from 9:30AM until 11:30AM. Father Santhosh will officiate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30AM with burial immediately after in the church cemetery.
