Roell 7th, Bills Ousted Early

(Indianapolis, IN) – Milan High School senior Kayla Roell finished seventh in the 125-pound weight class at the IHSAA Girls Wrestling State Finals inside Corteva Coliseum at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis on Friday.

Roell won her final high school match with a pin (pictured).

She finishes her senior season with a 33-3 record.

Roell won the first ever 120-pound girls state wrestling championship last year, making her the first female athlete in Milan High School history to win a state title.

“Thank you, Kayla, for setting the bar and leaving the mat better than you found it. Proud is an understatement.” reads a statement from Milan Community Schools.

Franklin County High School senior Chloe Bills was eliminated after falling in her first match at 125 to her opponent from North Posey.

Bills finishes her senior year at 16-8.
