Roderick W. Stenger, age 76 of Greensburg, died Monday, December 20, 2021 at his home. Born May 15, 1945 in Batesville, he is the son of Ella Rose (Nee: Kraus) and Eugene Stenger. He worked at Pavy Stockyards in Greensburg for 30 years before retiring in 2013.
Rod could best be described as a simple man with a kind heart. He had a love for old tractors and looked forward to the Power of the Past event each year. He also liked watching old T.V. show and had a soft spot for cats.
Rod is survived by his sister Sandy Starost of Hamburg; brothers Gary Stenger of Sunman, Steve Stenger of Hamburg as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by sisters Nancy Phillips, Donna Stenger and nephew Andy Stenger.
Visitation is Wednesday, December 29th from 10 – 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg. Funeral services follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Carl Langenderfer officiating. Burial will be in St. Anne’s Cemetery at Hamburg. For online condolences go to www.weigelfh.com.
