Robert R. Hill of Cedar Grove, was born on February 9, 1936 in Clay County, West Virginia, a son to Hallie E. and Flora Mae Johnson Hill. While stationed in Germany, Robert met and married his wife, Heidrun “Heide” Lutz. He was a lifelong union roofer and member of the Local #42 Roofers Union in Cincinnati. Robert worked at Kelly and Carpenter in Hamilton and Kramer Roofing in Harrison. He loved any hunting – rabbit, deer, turkey, and squirrel, and had several Beagle dogs. Robert also enjoyed his classic vehicles, owning two of his favorites, a ’65 Ford Mustang and a ’71 Chevy pickup. On February 2, 2016, at the age of 79, he passed away at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Those surviving who will cherish Robert’s memory include his wife of over 57 years, Heide Hill; sons, Mark Hill of Cedar Grove, Greg (Debbie) Hill of Everton, Tony (Michele) Hill of Ross, OH, and Jeff (Angela) Hill of Sharonville, OH; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Lincoln Hill, and sister Lurlene Doss, both of West Virginia. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Terry Leah Hill; brother, James Hill, and sister Ruth Stephenson.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, February 4, 2016, from 5 to 7p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. Services, officiated by Mark Wilson, Pastor of North Fairfield Baptist Church in Fairfield, OH, will be on Friday at 11a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in West Virginia, in the family cemetery.
