Robert “Bob” H. Bruns Sr., 76, Moores Hill

Robert “Bob” H. Bruns Sr., 76 years old of Moores Hill, was received into the kingdom of heaven on Monday, February 28, 2022. Born in Mariemont, Ohio on Friday, February 15, 1946, he was the son of Bernard and Margaret (Anderson) Bruns. Bob’s family moved to Moores Hill, Indiana when he was 12 years old. Bob started working at the age of 14, the beginning of his life-long values of hard work and providing for his family. He married the love of his life, Suzanne Beatty, on March 6, 1965, who survives.

Bob and Suzanne lived and raised their family in Moores Hill where they were very involved in their community. Bob served as a police officer in the 1970s and again in the 1980s with Suzanne as a Deputy. He volunteered his skills to help build the Moores Hill’s Park playground, the Moores Hill Fire Departments, and the Milan School’s playground. Over the years, Bob ran “Po’ Man’s Garage” from his home garage where he taught his sons and family not only to work on cars but to help others in need. He would give you the shirt off his back and a complimentary tour of his garage and custom home ceiling designs. Bob was a member of multiple organizations including the F & AM Lodge #346 of North Bend, Moores Hill and Sparta Fire Department, and the CB Helping Hands Club. Bob was a jack of all trades and fondly called by his family “the hillbilly MacGyver”. Driving a truck across the U.S. for many years, Bob retired from Conway CCX in 2008. After retirement he and Suzanne enjoyed traveling to Australia to visit family.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Suzanne, beloved children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; Robert (Mary) Bruns, Jr., Tammy (Tommy) Caldwell, Steven (Debra) Bruns, Eric Bruns (Christine Flaherty), Robby Bruns lll, Hannah Bruns, Jessica Caldwell, Amanda Villines, Tyler (Steph) Fuchs, Austin (Darby) Bruns, Sawyer Bruns, Rebecca Hensley, Emily Herbert, Logan Fuchs, and Elliott Bruns. In addition, there are many people who he considered family and who will miss him waving from his front porch with Suzanne, unofficially directing traffic in Moores Hill, dancing up a storm, and sharing his jokes called “Bobisms.”…I resemble that. In addition to his family, Bob is survived by his brother Mike (Marlena) Bruns and his sister Pat Bonnlander.

He was preceded in death by his brother Tom earlier this month, his parents, his brothers Bill and Jean Bruns, his sister Janet Bonnlander, and many in-laws.

The family invites you to pay tribute to an extraordinary man by attending the visitation from 5 – 7 PM on Thursday, March 3, 2022 and funeral service on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan, Indiana.

Memorials may be given in honor of Bob to Moores Hill Fire Department and the Moores Hill Life Squad. Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements, 707 S.
