Road crews battling wintry conditions at full strength

Aurora, In. — The Indiana Department of Transportation’s East Central District has implemented a full call-out of plow trucks for the latest round of wintry precipitation.

The National Weather Service is predicting 1-2 inches of snow and freezing rain late this evening and overnight into Wednesday morning’s commute.

INDOT trucks have been out pre-treating the roads with salt and patrolling for potential slick spots. INDOT crews will continue to monitor the forecast/conditions and make adjustments to resources as needed.

INDOT officials remind Hoosiers to drive defensively, plan extra travel time, drive slowly and be on constant alert for icy patches and black ice on roadways. Take it slow when approaching intersections, off-ramps, bridges or shady areas – all are hot spots for black ice.
