
Minimum Applicant Standards include:
- Applicant must be a citizen of the United State of America.
- Applicant must be 21 years of age or older at the time of appointment.
- Applicant must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicant must pass a full background investigation, written exam, and physical testing.
- Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Applicant must meet current Indiana Law Enforcement Academy physical standards and general requirements for police officers.
- Applicant must exercise good judgment and balanced temperament.
- Applicant must have excellent character with favorable references from previous employers and personal contacts.
- Applicant must have a clear criminal history.
- If discharged from the military, the applicant must possess an honorable discharge.
- Applicant must pass a drug screen and polygraph.
- The selected applicant may reside in Ripley County or any county adjacent to Ripley County.
- Completion of Indiana Law Enforcement Academy is preferred but not necessary
