Versailles, IN — The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) is currently accepting applications for the position of Deputy Sheriff. Applications may be obtained from the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office or on the RCSO website. If applying online, choose the application from the Sheriff’s page, not the general application on the County website. Applications must be turned in to the Sheriff’s Office or postmarked by noon on January 4, 2021.
Minimum Applicant Standards include:
- Applicant must be a citizen of the United State of America.
- Applicant must be 21 years of age or older at the time of appointment.
- Applicant must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicant must pass a full background investigation, written exam, and physical testing.
- Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Applicant must meet current Indiana Law Enforcement Academy physical standards and general requirements for police officers.
- Applicant must exercise good judgment and balanced temperament.
- Applicant must have excellent character with favorable references from previous employers and personal contacts.
- Applicant must have a clear criminal history.
- If discharged from the military, the applicant must possess an honorable discharge.
- Applicant must pass a drug screen and polygraph.
- The selected applicant may reside in Ripley County or any county adjacent to Ripley County.
- Completion of Indiana Law Enforcement Academy is preferred but not necessary
