RIPLEY COUNTY, IN — This week, the Ripley County color advisory was designated Blue again while all surrounding counties have been moved to Yellow or Orange status. The Ripley County Health Department would like to say thank you to everyone for continuing social distance precautions.
The Ripley County Health Department continues to host Walk-In Vaccination Clinics on Wednesday and Thursday from 9 am until 3:30 pm. The clinic has Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson Vaccines available for you to choose from. You are required to wear a mask when entering the Health Department if you do not have a mask, please use the Health Department entrance and call when you are at the door, someone will bring a mask to you.
COVID tests are available through the Health Department (Rapid Tests Only) Monday through Friday from 8 am until 3:30 pm and the Milan Fire Department Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 am until 5 pm and the second Saturday of the month from 9 am until 1 pm.
If you are planning to come to the Health Department for a Rapid Test you must park at the Health Department entrance and remain in your car. When you arrive call the office at 812.689.5751 and a member of our nursing staff will come to your car for the test. Results will be available in 15 to 20 minutes.

The Ripley County Health Department would like to remind all citizens to practice public health precautions of social distancing, avoid mass gatherings, wear your mask when in public, and wash hands frequently. As a reminder, COVID-19 is not isolated to one specific jurisdiction and is prevalent throughout the entire county, state, nation, and globally.
If you are exposed to COVID-19, the current CDC guidelines are as follows:
For unvaccinated individuals:
Quarantine after direct exposure (within 6 feet for more than 15 minutes in a 24 hours timeframe) – 14-day quarantine and watch for symptoms. If symptoms begin, it is recommended to be tested.
Tested positive individual: Quarantine for 10 days of a positive test or symptom onset, whichever came first, and contact everyone you were in contact with 48 hours prior to symptom onset.
For vaccinated individuals:
Vaccinated individuals do NOT have to quarantine if they have direct exposure. Watch for symptoms and if you become symptomatic, you then need to be tested or isolate for 10 days.
Tested positive individual: Quarantine for 10 days of a positive test or symptom onset, whichever came first, and contact everyone you were in contact with 48 hours prior to symptom onset.
