Ripley County EMA director dies

Versailles, In. — WRBI News has learned Ripley County Emergency Management Director J. Patrick Rose died on January 4 in Louisville, Kentucky.

Rose had served as the director since 2011 and was an important part of the team that provides relief to disaster victims, acquires equipment for local agencies and arrange rapid response training.

Rose was a four-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, New York National and was deployed to Ground Zero for 11 months following the terrorist attacks in September of 2001. He also participated in deployments to Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan.

County commissioners will reserve the Ripley County Government Annex for Patrick’s Memorial Service. Services are scheduled for 3 p. m. Monday, January 14. Visitation begins at 3 p.m. and the memorial service begins at 4 p.m. A light pitch-in reception will follow the memorial service.
