(Osgood, IN) – Ripley County 8th grade students received a taste of adult life Tuesday at WRBI’s Reality Check at Jac-Cen-Del Jr./Sr. High School.
In addition to the host school, students from St. Louis and St. Nicholas schools participated.
The program offers the 8th graders a chance to learn what grownups experience.
Students made choices, selected careers, budgeting, and dealt with family issues, among other things.
St. Louis social studies teacher Zach Strub brought students to the program, and says he went through Reality Check when he was in 8th grade.
“I thought it was a great way to teach kids how to manage their money, and look for what kind of careers they want,” Strub said. “I think the kids enjoyed it because they always like to have life lessons so that way they can take it forward.”
