Riley “Bud” Allen, of Brookville, was born on May 18, 1935 in Manchester, Kentucky, a son to William and Susanna Ison Allen. He married Elizabeth Fields on December 13, 1961 in Brookville and she preceded him in death on September 4, 2013. Bud was a stone mason for many years and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and bowling. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the age of 83, he passed away.
Those surviving who will cherish Bud’s memory include his children, Janeen (Joe) Goldsmith of Oldenburg, Rebecca Allen of Cincinnati, Margaret (Kraig) Lake of Brookville, William Allen of Brookville, Bonnie (Alan) Farthing of Rushville, and Joy Oakley of Rushville; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, one sister, Betty Sanders of Dayton, OH; one brother, Sylvester Allen of Metamora, and companion, Frieda Dellenbaugh of Brookville. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence and John Allen and two sisters, Inez Hartford and Faye Snyder.
Services will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, with Pastor Wayne Ison of Metamora Church of God officiating. Friends may visit from 12 noon until time of service. Burial will follow in Dunlapsville Cemetery.
