St. Leon, IN–An INDOT contractor will begin work on a slide repair project on I-74 WB near MM 166 in Dearborn County on Friday, Feb. 21, weather permitting. Crews will construct a 1,500 to 2,000-foot soil nail wall on the north side of the roadway.
During construction, the right shoulder and right lane of westbound I-74 will be closed near the slide location (between MM 166 and 167) approximately two miles east of Exit 164 (S.R. 1/St. Leon/Lawrenceburg). A 55 mph speed restriction will also be in place.
Motorists should slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones. The project is expected to be completed in mid-March.
