Richard M. Studt of Sunman, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Margaret Mary Health. The son of Ross G. Studt and Marian Studt (nee: Fortunato) born on May 24, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Rick graduated in 1969 from Oak Hills High School and married Patricia Maturana on August 22, 1970 in Cincinnati. Richard was a proud Navy veteran, serving in the Vietnam war from 1971-1975. He retired as a journeyman marble and stone mason for Union Local 18.
Richard was a typical Cincinnati kid of the times, his mother was Italian and his father was German. Richard liked sports. He coached his son’s baseball team when he was younger. He was proud of his work as a stone and marble mason and enjoyed taking his family around town to show them the many important buildings he had worked on. Richard really enjoyed listening to his 60 & 70’s music. Most of all, he was a family man. His life was all about his kids and especially his grandkids. Richard loved spending time with them.
He is survived by his wife, Patty, his mother Marian Studt of Cincinnati; his sons, Michael and his wife Julie Studt of Bright, IN; Jason and his wife Shauna Studt of Middletown, OH. His six grandchildren, Madelyn, Blake and Dylan Studt; Jade and Ridge Ilderton; and Cierra Baker. His siblings, Sharon Lee Keller of Hebron, KY, Brian Studt of Bright, IN, Sheri Wolf of Morrow, OH, Lee Ann Price of Austin, TX and Steve Studt of Delhi, OH.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 12pm-2pm followed by a 2pm memorial service at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, IN. Military rites immediately thereafter conducted by Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271 and Batesville VFW Post #3183.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be given in his name to the AMVETS Post #13 Dearborn County c/o the funeral home
