Doug Pepper, age 72, of Liberty, passed away Sunday morning, June 29, 2025, at Reid Health of Richmond, Indiana.
A son of Dick and Jean Hoffman Pepper, Doug was born May 22, 1953, in Batesville, Indiana.
On February 9, 1974, Doug was united in marriage to Sharon Gramman. Mrs. Pepper survives.
Doug began his working career as a mechanic at the former Chevrolet Dealership in Brookville. He was then hired by Tom Trapp, owner of Bobcat Enterprises, where he worked in service & sales for thirty-three years.
Doug was an active member of the Bath Conservation Club. In his leisure time, Doug enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing and golfing, as well as playing cards, bowling and just chatting with anyone who would lend an ear. Doug never met a stranger!
Besides his wife of fifty-one years, Sharon Pepper, survivors include five siblings, Anne Fetrow of Columbus, Ohio, Greg (Colleen) Pepper of Brookville, Susan (Don) Freeman of Merritt Island, Florida, Joan (Brian) Pepper of Durham, North Carolina, and Dave (Missy) Pepper of West Harrison, Indiana; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Jean Pepper; his brother-in-law, Bill Fetrow; a great-nephew, Nathaniel Pepper; and his father and mother-in-law, Don and Betty Gramman.
Family and friends may visit from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Phillips and Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Santhosh Yohannan at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 145 East St. Michaels Boulevard, Brookville.
