(Milan, IN) – Retiring Superintendent Jane Rogers attended her final Milan School Board meeting this week.
“I can say after a 40-year career, I am pleased, and I can look forward to new adventures,” Rogers said. “But I’m also very sad to leave such a caring community, and a dedicated community here at Milan.”
Her sendoff included some parting gifts.
“The board members in particular were so very kind with their words of thanks to me, and they presented me with a clock and a huge rock to go in our landscape at home that has the Milan logo,” she said.”It’s something that I will cherish for many, many years.”
Rogers has been with Milan Community Schools for 20 years – including 13-and-a-half as the elementary school principal.
She has been Superintendent since January 2017.
“The things that I will remember most, obviously, are the people, their goodness, and the relationships that we’ve made. And those kind of things will last me a lifetime,” Rogers said.
Pat Murphy takes over as Milan Schools Superintendent, effective July 1.
Jane Rogers appeared on Thursday’s edition of WRBI’s The Daily Pod. The complete interview is available here.
