Franklin County, In. — The Whitewater Valley Retired Teachers Association says during 2017 members of their group volunteered at least 10,700 hours in the community. Volunteers prepared meals for Works of Mercy, projects in four elementary schools, youth sports, tutoring and 4-H projects.
Retired teachers also worked in various churches, nursing homes and the library. Members also spent time on boards and committees of civic organizations.
The members enjoy and appreciate volunteer roles in the community and look for new ways to give back.
