(Ripley County, IN) – The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office says it has received calls in recent days about a scammer claiming to be Sgt. Corky Houseworth and demanding money on behalf of the agency.
The sheriff’s office says while Houseworth is a real person, he is retired, and that they will never ask for money over the phone.
If you receive one of these calls, you’re urged not to give the scammer any information and hang up immediately.
