On Tuesday night, area schools traveled to Franklin Community to
compete at the Girls Track Regional.
East Central had the highest team finish out of all area schools finishing 7th, scoring 39 points. Greensburg in 11th with 19 points, Batesville in 12th with 16, South Ripley in 16th with 7, and Franklin County in a tie for 19th with 4 points.
East Central qualified for state in 2 relays and 1 individual event.
The 4x400m relay team of Jorjia Ferguson, Callie Bently, Rachel Campbell, & Erika Wells finished second with 3:59.34.
The 4X800 relay team of Erika Wells, Ashtyn Gindling, Rachel Campbell, and Callie Bentley placed 3rd with a time of 9:24.
Rachel Campbell ran a 58.70 to finish 3rd in the 400m dash.
Greensburg’s Emarie Green qualified for state in both the shot put and the discus, finishing in 2nd in both events. Green threw 46’9.5″ in the shot put and a 143’10” in the discus.
