(Batesville, IN) – No one was injured but flames destroyed a home in Batesville’s Quail Meadows subdivision Tuesday evening.

Firefighters responding to the scene at 353 Bob White Boulevard shortly before 6 pm encountered a fully engulfed home with heavy fire, which spread to adjacent houses on either side.

Crews were able to stop the fire’s spread and prevent further damage to the adjacent homes but were not able to save the main house where the initial call came in.

The residents were displaced and lost everything in the fire, and a Go Fund Me has been set up to assist them.

As of Wednesday afternoon, close to 145 people donated, pushing the total to $10,155 – surpassing the $10,000 goal.

Batesville Fire and Rescue received assistance from the Morris and Oldenburg/Eagle fire departments and Batesville Police officers, who provided traffic control around the scene.
