Residents invited to join Sunman firefighters in 9/11 walk Sunday

Sunman, IN — The Sunman Rural Fire Department will observe the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on Sunday by walking 3.43 miles in full turnout gear and air packs.

Department officials say they are using the walk to remember the 343 firefighters and more than 2,000 people who died in the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11, 2001.

The event starts at 9 am Sunday and it is open to the public.

Anyone who would like to join in is asked to meet at the Sunman firehouse at 8:45 Sunday morning.
