Rescue workers save pregnant woman from flood waters

Manilla, In. — Indiana State Police saved a pregnant woman from flood waters on a Rush County road Monday afternoon .

Around 1 p.m. Rush County Sheriff’s deputies and Indiana State trooper Mike Ooley began to coordinate their response to a stalled car on County Road 100 South near County Road 715 West.

Ooley, with the assistance of the Manilla Fire Department, approached the stranded car from the west and retrieved Addison Pugh, 22, of Manilla.

Pugh was uninjured but shaken up.

Indiana State Police say NEVER drive into water flowing over a roadway. If you are in a vehicle that crashes into water, open a window and get everyone in your car out of their seatbelt. If there are children in the car, get them out first, starting with the oldest; climb out of an open window onto the top of your car.
