(Cincinnati, OH) – The Cincinnati Reds have hired Terry Francona as manager.
Francona received a three-year contract with a club option for 2028.
The 65-year-old Francona stepped down as Cleveland manager after the 2023 season.
He has managed three teams over a 23-year career.
Francona’s record is 1,950-1,672 record with the Philadelphia Phillies from 1997-2000, the Boston Red Sox from 2004-2011, and the Cleveland Indians/Guardians from 2013-2023.
He guided the Red Sox to World Series titles in 2004 and 2007.
Francona’s hiring comes 12 days after the Reds parted ways with David Bell.

(Cincinnati, OH) – The Cincinnati Reds are hiring Terry Francona as manager, according to multiple reports.
It was first reported by Mark Feisand of MLB.com that Francona will come out of retirement one year after stepping down as Cleveland’s manager.
The Reds fired David Bell in September after the team underperformed and missed the playoffs in 2024.
The 65-year-old Francona retired after the 2023 season after dealing with health issues toward the end of his time in Cleveland.
He is the winningest manager in Indians/Guardians history and 13th on Major League Baseball’s career list.
Before taking over in Cleveland, Francona won World Series championships as the manager of the Boston Red Sox in 2004 and 2007.
He also managed the Philadelphia Phillies from 1997-2000.
During his playing days, Francona spent time with the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs, the Reds in 1987, Cleveland, and Milwaukee. He played from 1981-1990.
