Reorganization brings more jobs to Batesville

Batesville, In. — An expansion of the safe patient handling product line will lead Hill-Rom to make an additional investment in Batesville. Plans include adding up to 35 software, mechanical, design, electrical, systems and test engineers.

Hill-Rom recently purchased Skaneateles Falls, New York-based Welch Allyn. In 2015 Hill-Rom cut 80 positions at Welch Allyn, 50 at the New York facility. Company officials now see this move as an opportunity to upgrade their research and development workforce. Some relocation opportunities will be offered.

Company officials are expected to seek a tax abatement from the city of Batesville.
