
Outdoor Women at Big Oaks is a one-day program designed to offer women ages 12 and over the opportunity to gain valuable in-the-field skills in an environment that encourages fun and success in the outdoors. The award-winning program teaches outdoor skills to women through a variety of courses including fishing, archery, shooting sports, wild game cooking, falconry, canoeing/kayaking, bird watching and much more. This event also fosters a greater appreciation for wildlife conservation and allows women to meet others who share their enthusiasm for the outdoors.
Registration forms can be downloaded from www.fws.gov/refuge/big_oaks/ Call the refuge office at 812-273-0783 to receive a mailed registration form. Classes are limited in size, so early registration is recommended. The deadline for early discounted registration is May 6th: The registration fee includes a choice of 4 courses, continental breakfast, lunch, use of equipment and supplies, and a day pass to Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge.
