Register to vote deadline this Monday

Statewide—As a reminder, Monday, May 4 is the deadline to register to vote in the June 2nd primary. 

What you need to register:

  1. Have a valid Indiana Driver’s License or Indiana State Identification Card.
  2. Be a citizen of the United States.
  3. Be at least 18 years old on or before the next general, municipal, or special election. (A 17-year-old may register and vote in the primary election if the voter turns 18 on or before the next general or municipal election.)
  4. Have lived in your precinct for at least 30 DAYS before the next general, municipal, or special election.
  5. Not currently imprisoned after being convicted of a crime.

 

Registered voters who wish to vote through the mail may request an absentee ballot by filling out a form that can be found by clicking here and returning it to their local election board by mail, email, fax, or hand delivery. The application must be completed and received by the county election board or the Indiana Election Division by May 21.

After an application has been received, the voter will be mailed a primary election ballot.

The voter must then complete the ballot and return it to the county election board by noon local time on Election Day, June 2.
