Reds break 47-year drought in Boston but split series

The Reds last night did something they had not done in 47 years and that was beat the Red Sox in Boston.  Final score Monday was 2-1.

Cincy pitcher Luis Castillo threw his best game of the season with 10 strikeouts and just one hit allowed over six innings for the win. Tony Santillan gave up a run in the ninth but held on to earn the save.

The Reds Matt Reynolds had a three-hit game and Joey Votto ripped two doubles that both hit high off the wall.

Cincinnati ended up settling for a series split falling Tuesday 7-1 at Fenway Park.

Reds pitcher Hunter Greene was almost unhittable during the first three innings, but the Red Sox got to him in the fourth and scored four runs.

The Redlegs only run came on an RBI hit by Nick Senzel in the sixth.  Both Brandon Drury and Aristides Aquino had two hits each in the loss.
