(Brookville, IN) – Caroline Jansing, a recent Oldenburg Academy graduate, is being hailed as a hero for saving a young child from drowning.
On Sunday, Jansing was a lifeguard on duty at Heap/Hofer Town Aquatic Center in Brookville when a four-year-old child, Joselyn Allen, was observed at the bottom of the pool.
After the child was pulled out of the water, the 18-year-old lifeguard, along with the child’s father, Davey Allen, were successful in attempting life-saving measures.
The four-year-old spent the night at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and was discharged the next day.
Jansing will attend the University of Cincinnati in the fall. Her future plans are to become a paramedic.
