RCHD creates cheat sheet for handling COVID-19

Versailles, IN—The Ripley County Health Department has created a “cheat sheet” on how to continue handling the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Health Department reminds everyone that they should be:

  • Washing your hands frequently
  • Covering your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing with appropriate material (like tissue or handkerchief)
  • Utilizing high standards of social distancing
  • Wear a mask if available
  • Have only ONE member of the household at a time go when making a run to the store for essential items.

If you or someone in your household is pending a test:

  • Try to recall close contacts of the patient for the last 7-14 days, in the event of a positive result, that information is valuable.
  • Sequester the individual in the household if possible
  • Avoid close personal contact.
  • If others in the household become symptomatic, contact your health care professional.

If you or someone in your household is positive:

  • Sequester those who have been in close personal contact with the patient.
  • If you or a family member becomes symptomatic, inform your health care professional.
  • Please be prepared with the patient’s list of close contacts over the last 7-14 days. This information is necessary for tracing needs.

If you have any questions, call the Ripley County Health Department at 812.689.5751.
