(Southeastern IN) – All of the rain we received last weekend and into the first part of last week has knocked Southeastern Indiana officially from drought status.
The latest U.S. Drought Monitor map lists the area as “abnormally dry.” (pictured)
Some portions of the state are still in a moderate drought, while others have normal conditions.
The rains that fell on Southeastern Indiana between September 27-30 came right after the Drought Monitor map listed parts of Ripley and Dearborn counties and the southeastern-most corner of Franklin County under extreme drought conditions, with other places around the area in a moderate-to-severe drought.
The map released Thursday shows other places around the area are in a moderate-to-severe drought.
