The following are girls basketball recaps from Friday, December 3.
(VAR) South Ripley beat Rising Sun in a non-conference game 42-33.
The Raiders got 11 points from Gracie Gunter, 10 by Katelynn Samples and eight each from Emily Flood and Rachel Meyer. Meyer pulled down 11 rebounds and Samples secured 10. Gunter also contributed four assists and four steals.
(VAR) Shawe edged Southwestern Hanover 33-32.
The Hilltoppers snapped a six-game losing streak to the Rebels. The ladies from Hanover led by as many as seven in the third quarter.
Allison Knobel of Shawe had 15 points and seven rebounds. Ava Turner followed with eight points and three assists.
For Southwestern, Emma Long had 14 points and 10 boards. Ashely Fulton collected 10 points and six caroms.
(VAR) Lawrenceburg rolled over Richmond 42-16.
Kirsten Cross carded 15 points, 13 rebounds and three steals. Lizzie Redar garnered 11 points and nine boards.
(VAR) 1A-No. 2 Waldron beat 2A-No. 1 Triton Central 46-39.
The Mohawks ended a 17-game losing streak to the Tigers dating back to Waldron’s last win in the series from 2010.
Helping to capture The Bell for the Mohawks were Nichole Garner with 18 points and Mackenzie Shaw with 11.
Lizzie Graham scored 14 in the loss for TC.
