On WRBI Saturday night, the South Ripley boys defeated North Decatur 67-43.

The Raiders established an early lead, 20-10 at the end of the first quarter, and 40-17 at the half.

Nick Schwarte put in 22 points for the host Raiders.  Eighteen came in the first half. Zach Gentile scored 14, Blaine Ward had 11 and Blake Volz added 10.  North got 14 points from Blake Spears and 13 from Lance Nobbe.

The Chargers won the battle of the boards 31-25 but the Raiders did an incredible job taking care of the basketball, committing just four turnovers.  Both teams shot well from the line, but South Ripley more than doubled ND’s 8 of 10 output making an impressive 17 of 19.

We thank South Ripley AD Jeff Gorrell for the accommodations and hospitality and to coaches Tyler Theising and PJ Metz for their time and information.
